Bonding Gypsum Cardboards & OSB to walls

Gypsum cardboard (drywall) and OSB are often used to even out walls or to create a stronger substrate for further finishing layers. Tytan 60 Seconds is a perfect product for fast and easy fixing of building boards without the need to use mechanical anchoring indoors.

First, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond.

Apply a 2 cm-3 cm bead of adhesive around the perimeter of the board.

Apply a zigzag pattern of adhesive starting from one of the corners of the adhesive bead. Maintain a 4 cm distance from the edge to avoid the adhesive being squeezed out when the surfaces are joined.

From the moment the adhesive is applied, wait 60 seconds.

Raise the board and press it against the wall.

Use a spirit level to position the board. Make sure that the gap between the board and the wall is not wider than 1 cm; otherwise some adhesive expansion may occur. While the adhesive cures on the first board, apply it on the next one using the same pattern and fix it on the wall.

Small bricklaying jobs

Tytan 60 Seconds is the perfect adhesive for bricklaying, be it a decorative wall or a larger project like a set of partition walls. Tytan 60 Seconds can only be used to raise walls with calibrated materials. Popular calibrated materials include AAC (aerated autoclaved concrete) and ceramic bricks with hollow space.

Before laying the first layer with Tytan 60 Seconds, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond. The first layer of the wall must be installed using traditional mortar in order to ensure a perfectly level wall.

Beads should be applied on the wall top, not on loose bricks. Apply the adhesive in beads to create both horizontal and vertical joints.

TIP! Plan ahead. First measure all corners of the designed wall and plan how the blocks or bricks are going to be laid. Lay a mason’s string from corner to corner to mark the position of each brick. Use a spirit level to make sure each brick contributes to an even wall.

For walls narrower than 15 cm apply a single bead of adhesive along the center of the wall. For walls wider than 15 cm, apply 2 beads, making sure they are 4 – 5 cm away from the wall face.

Please remember, that 60 Seconds is suitable for internal walls or minor bricklaying jobs, in case you need a solution for bricklaying external partition walls or load bearing walls in family houses please refer to Tytan Professional Foam Adhesive for Bricklaying, a certified solution for the above mentioned applications

Always apply enough adhesive to glue not more than 2-3 bricks. Bricks position can be corrected within 1 minute from application. Tytan 60 Seconds cures fast, so be sure to immediately place the brick or block in its final position. When you are done with the first layer of bricks, you may immediately start laying the next layer.

TIP! The wall is going to reach full strength within 24 hours and this is when finishing layers, like plaster, can be applied. Further reinforcement of the wall can be acquired through applying Tytan 60 Seconds where the partition wall and the load-bearing wall come in contact.

Lightweight & gypsum decorative elements

Tytan 60 Seconds is the perfect choice for gluing lightweight and heavier decorative elements on horizontal, vertical and even overhead surfaces.

First, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond.Once both surfaces are ready, position the decorative elements in the desired place and place positions marks. Use a pencil for a clean and tidy job.

Apply Tytan 60 Seconds using a thin, ~1 cm bead. Apply a single bead for small elements and multiple, parallel beads for larger elements. Always form open shapes in order to allow for air passage and proper adhesive curing.

Wait for 60 seconds and join the elements. In case of heavy materials. Wait for 90-120 seconds to acquire a stronger immediate tack.

Once the elements are joined, press firmly for a few seconds and let go.

Molding

Apply bead of adhesive along the molding. Make sure the adhesive is applied as far from the face of the molding as possible to avoid the adhesive being squeezed out on the wall or floor.

Wait for 60 seconds.

Attach the molding to the wall.

TIP! Plan ahead. Carefully measure all walls. Cut and adjust all the molding required to finish the room. Pay particular attention to miter joints. Lay out all the molding against matching walls. In case of extremely uneven walls, wait for 90-120 seconds to acquire a stronger immediate tack.

Window sills

Use Tytan 60 Seconds to mount all types of window sills. First, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond. The adhesive can either be applied on the sill base or on the sill covering.

Use Tytan 60 Seconds to mount all types of window sills. First, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond. The adhesive can either be applied on the sill base or on the sill covering.

Once the adhesive is applied, wait for 60-120 seconds to speed up the curing process.

Mount the sill covering on the sill base. It is advised to leave a weight on the sill to prevent excess adhesive from expanding.

The sill can be used freely after 24 hours, that is after the adhesive fully cures.

Fixing metal profiles

Tytan 60 Seconds can be used for installing metal profiles on wall corners. This technique is particularly useful when constructing partition walls made of gypsum-cardboad (drywall).

First, make sure that the glued surfaces are even. Follow the surface preparation instructions for a tight and durable bond. Measure the corner length and adjust the profile to meet your needs.

Apply Tytan 60 Seconds along the inner corner of the metal profile. Make sure there is enough adhesive to cover both sides of the profile when it is mounted to the wall.

Wait for ~60 seconds for the adhesive to achieve its tack properties and then carefully position the profile on the wall corner.

Excess adhesive can be trimmed in less than 30 minutes after application.
